Full-time staff are dedicated to planning and organizing a wide variety of activities and events at Renaissance Gardens. Residents are exposed to new opportunities to grow, learn, and simply enjoy life. It’s nothing like your typical nursing home.
Plus, when you or your loved one comes to Renaissance Gardens you become a Charlestown resident. That means residents share in all of the on-campus amenities and programs, including the Fitness and Aquatics Centers, restaurants, and other activities.

Residents enjoy a variety of trips to off-campus places like the Lyric Opera House and Oriole Park at Camden Yards. But there’s always something happening at Renaissance Gardens too—such as happy hour, music concerts, and movie night.
There’s no shortage of fun and stimulating activities for large and small groups at Renaissance Gardens. Some popular games residents play include Nintendo Wii, trivia, crossword puzzles, bridge, word games, and anagrams.
Residents have opportunities to express their creative sides. Depending on individual interests, residents can choose painting, ceramics, bead crafts, or collages. There’s also family tree crafts, creative writing, and poetry reading.
No matter what their fitness level, residents may participate in a variety of exercises. From Fit for Life classes, to Chair Exercise, to light sports like indoor bowling, there's something for everyone. Wellness activities like music therapy and manicures encourage residents to feel good in both body and mind.
The clubs, groups, and classes at Renaissance Gardens are as diverse as the people who live here. Some prefer current events discussion with Catonsville Community College while others chat over the Daily Chronicle. Some enjoy Red Hat activities, while others are interested in horticulture.
When residents move to Renaissance Gardens they bring their religious and spiritual beliefs with them. Attend Catholic mass, Episcopal service, Protestant service and more, right on campus. Residents also enjoy participating in Bible study, hymn singing, Rosary, and morning praise.
