Those 62 and older must often deal with more than one health issue, and Renaissance Gardens is uniquely prepared to help in this situation. From the wide range of medical professionals available here, to the carefully designed living environment, to the variety of services and programs provided, we offer capabilities well suited to the management of one or more chronic condition.
Highlights of Care:
- One of the most important features of medical care at Renaissance Gardens is the level of attention provided to your loved one by our medical staff. There is no substitute for careful, patient, unhurried care when evaluating and treating the very complex problems common to many seniors.
- If your loved one has multiple illnesses, he or she undoubtedly requires multiple medications. Our staff stays up to date on medication interactions, takes the time to review your loved one's prescriptions, and works to minimize risks and maximize benefits.
- Residents of Renaissance Gardens have on-site access to an array of consulting specialists such as podiatrists, dentists, cardiologists, psychiatrists, orthopedists, and urologists. We carefully choose specialists for their dedication to and expertise in caring for seniors.
- The restorative-nursing program focuses on exercise, especially (whenever possible) walking, to improve residents’ vitality. Even if your loved one isn’t part of a formal rehabilitation program because of limitations in Medicare coverage, we have ways to encourage him or her.
- The Renaissance Gardens program manager plans meaningful, engaging activities. We assume that even residents with significant disease are mentally sharp and need intellectual stimulation.
- The Renaissance Gardens Personal Portrait TM is an important key to care. Our staff learns about your loved one's past accomplishments, likes, and dislikes so they can tailor care to him or her. Although residents may lose physical function due to some illness, they must not lose their dignity and self worth.
- We provide close monitoring for depression, which often develops in patients with chronic health problems. Treating depression can be a challenge because of interactions between antidepressants and other medications, but our staff stays up to date on such interactions and alternative therapies.
- Because each Renaissance Gardens is part of a larger Erickson campus, our residents can take advantage of wonderful amenities to help maintain their health. For instance, some residents attend swim classes and others engage in physical activity at the Fitness Center under the watchful eye of a personal trainer.
- Renaissance Gardens offers Short-Term Rehabilitation services. Physical therapy, occupation therapy, and speech-language are available on a daily basis for those recovering from surgery, major illness, or hospitalization.
- Being active or involved in the world around you is important at every level of care. The Renaissance Gardens program manager coordinates events and activities—both group and individual—that are meaningful and engaging for each resident.
At Renaissance Gardens, our residents with one or more health concern receive the customized care they need to thrive. For our expertise in specific areas please check out the conditions listed on our menu to the left.
