If you've looked at the sections on Profiling Your Loved One's Needs and Finding the Right Help for Your Loved One, you're now better prepared to detect any changes in your loved one's behavior or capabilities, and to know the types of services that may be of use.

At this point you should be at one of two points:

  1. You have concluded that your loved one is not having any difficulties at present and will not for the near future. If so, you can do the following while you continue to monitor your loved one:
    • Begin to investigate the insurance and legal aspects of obtaining care for your loved one.
    • Begin to talk to family members to share information and gather ideas.
    • Identify care providers in your area and start to collect information about them.
    • Visit care providers to see first-hand what they offer.

  2. You have concluded that your loved one may need help now or in the near future. If so, please consider asking a Renaissance Gardens health care counselor for advice. Our counselors have extensive experience in guiding people to successful solutions that fit their needs, can answer all your questions, and can point you toward additional resources as well.
